The Design Intent

For my next entry in the Bestiary 52, I wanted to move away from "Health-bar sponges." I’ve always loved mechanics that force players to manage a secondary resource—turning the environment itself into an antagonist. The Glacial Stalker is designed to be a "Gear Check" for survival; it forces a party to value fire and heat sources as much as their weapons. It is not merely a predator; it is "winter wearing a body."
