Release Day Weekly Spam - (30/10/2026)

This week we feature the last full-length from an Industrial legend, the latest one from Norwegian Progressive virtuosos, and we go from traditional Doom to the most advanced Chiptune Metal today. We even have a stupid miss from last week releases! Come join the ride!

Anagnorisis - Caregriever

What started as a very personal way of dealing with grief and the stress of becoming the primary caregiver of his father in law, Anagnorisis vocalist Zachary Kerr presented this music to his estranged bandmates and was inspiring enough that ended up becoming their first album after a 10 year hiatus. Last week was so good for Black Metal with the WOLVES IN THE THRONE ROOM and The Blood Mountain Black Metal Choir releases that I completely forgot about this release that was also MASSIVE. Challenging to the point of being abrasive, this is a passionate discharge of pain and sorrow that becomes almost to much to handle, especially if you have experienced a similar situation, as most of us will do as we and our loved ones get older. It still speaks a lot of the medium and of the best artists in the genre when we're able to connect at such deep level and are willing to witness and sympathize on subjects as bleak and complex as these. Just a couple years ago I was in a similar situation and I can tell that I'm probably going to be coming back to this one a lot in the future.

MASTER BOOT RECORD - COMPUTER METAL

After releasing earlier this year their first live album and becoming a proper band, this group of musicians has now another complete release in their ever growing and almost endlessly creative body of work that's now a full dozen of full-lengths and almost as much compilations and collaborations. And from what it seems after listening this one, they don't seem to be running out of ideas or inspiration, maybe only for the album names. COMPUTER METAL may be the least inspired name, at least compared to bangers like C:> DEFRAG or REALTIME EXECUTION but that may have been a call from their new label, and as far as the music goes, and if you're still willing to buy in their whole concept, it still feels as fully charged and exhilarating as their first. And it's as a name-your-price download in Bandcamp for as low as 1 USD. "Praise the code" indeed.

Cirith Ungol - All The Shadows

As someone that (shamefully) has just recently come to know the work of Michael Moorcock and his hallucinating fantasy sagas, I've come to also appreciate Cirith Ungol's work in a different light. Don't get me wrong, I've always liked their unabashed style of Traditional Doom, but being properly imbued in their inspirational themes makes their music hit a little bit harder. This is their latest and while their lineup changes are notable in the output, it's still a general good time to be listening to their energetic solos and crushing riffs.

Enslaved - Mið

An artist that always strive to reinvent themselves with each output doesn't always have a smooth journey, and the Norwegian Prog Metal band Enslaved can attest to that. They've been pushing the proverbial envelope ever since they decided to peel away from their more traditional Black Metal roots, and been doing it for more time than most current bands have actually existed. So their newest one is also a commendable effort to renewal. I can say that at the very least the track Spirit Helper (a collab with a proper vocalist of the Blackfoot Nation) is gonna stay on my mind for a while.

Ministry - Hate to Go - Take Out or Delivery

Al Jourgensen has been a fixture in the major Metal scene for the better part of 45 years, and as most things, it all must come to an end. And this is Ministry's. And with Godflesh also releasing their purported last full-length recording next year, a major generational shift in the Industrial scene is in play.
