Release Day Weekly Spam - (6/11/2026)
This week is going to be a bit sparse in releases that I personally find interesting, and fewer words to accompany them. But since this is the first Friday of the month, I should remind you that means that up until the end of the day, Bandcamp is waving its usual share of the sales made in the site, so it's a good day to show support to your favorite artist that may sell there. If you're wanting some pointers, you can check the two previous installments of this feature, most if not all of the artists mentioned there and here in this post are on Bandcamp, it's an usual spot for independent artists, and most Metal adjacent record labels have adopted the site as a valid place to sell their wares. Also their own lists and editorials have a good spread of known and relatively unknown worthy releases in all genres, not only Metal, and are also not constrained to only newer releases if you want to explore more. And contrary to some other platforms, whatever you buy in Bandcamp is not only streamable in site and their mobile app but completely downloadable in a variety of formats including lossless compression (FLAC) without any DRM.
Cult of Luna - In the Shadow of Your Shadow
One of my most awaited releases of this year, these Swede Sludge specialists are putting a high exclamation point on the back end of this one cycle around the Sun
Saor - Caledonia
Atmospheric Black Metal has always been made more realized as a valid niche of an already niche subgenre by Saor celebrated releases, so this is a compilation of songs that didn't get a full treatment to have them included in those past full-lengths, so now they're given the full love and care that this Scottish one-man band can give.
HYPNO5E - Trame Noire
I'm a sucker for some good experimental Avant-Garde Post-whatever and there's always something special about how the French approach to those labels with the gusto and abandon these guys do, and this album for sure doesn't disappoint.
Konvent - Firesky
There seems to be each year one subgenre with a bunch of very notable releases, and this year seems to me that subgenre is Doom, and this one is a total doozy.
There were also no new notable live shows served to me by the almighty algorithm, so I'll just put a couple of "old" ones that still make it regularly to my feed and I'm happy to hear again every single time.
